9PX G2 FAQ
What power ratings does the 9PX G2 UPS offer?
Which form factors are available for the 9PX G2 UPS?
The 9PX G2 UPS is available as a rack/tower UPS, which means it can be mounted in a 4-post server rack with the included rackmount kit, as a tower UPS with the included tower stands or in a 2-post server rack with the optional 2-post rackmount kit - RK2PC (sold separately, one 2-post mounting kit required per UPS/EBM/transformer module).
Which applications and environments are ideal for the 9PX G2 UPS?
Does the 9PX G2 UPS support connecting external battery modules (EBMs)?
Yes, it has gone from a 6U footprint to one 4U chassis!
How have you been able to reduce the size of the UPS? Have you decreased the runtime?
The 9PX G2 UPS uses new wide-bandgap (silicon carbide) power electronics components. Those components have a smaller footprint and are more energy efficient than traditional components. Eaton has not made any compromise on the runtime.
The 3U form factor used on the 9PX G2 5/6 kVA UPS provides the best balance between power capacity, runtime and outlet count.
What is Lithium-ion Battery Management System (BMS)?

If the recharge date on the label has not passed, UPS batteries must be charged (connected to utility power) for at least 24 hours before they will be fully charged. If the recharge date has passed and you did not power up and charge the UPS batteries previously, the batteries are degraded and should be replaced. For long-term storage after the first recharge, the UPS batteries should be charged every 6 months.
